DIY: Christmas centrepiece of recovery material
by Blu
Handmade Christmas crafts with what you already own: a small DIY idea to create a centrepiece for Christmas with recycled/repurposed materials such as small branches, pine cones and some spices to decorate and perfume our candle holder.
What is needed:
- wooden branches
- pine cones
- cinnamon sticks
- star anise
- pine branches
- vinyl glue
- hot glue
- candle
- corrugated cardboard
- small glass beaker or cardboard tube (es.Pringles)
- snow spray (optional)
- Christmas fairy lights (optional)
How to make:
At the centre of the composition there will be our candle (it could be one of those decorated), now you have to find a small glass or a tube of Pringles to be cut that can hold it.
At the centre of the composition there will be our candle (it could be one of those decorated), now you have to find a small glass or a tube of Pringles to be cut that can hold it.
Around the candle holder, we will build our composition with the branches of wood: we can arrange these to form a circle, a nest or a star, as you prefer. With the hot glue fix the twigs between them, and then glue over the various decorative elements (pinecones, pine branches, etc.).
Once completed you can choose whether to leave the centrepiece natural or create the snow effect with the appropriate spray and/or illuminate it with mini Christmas fairy lights. Tips: when it will no longer serve as a centrepiece, you can hang the wood structure as a decoration/wreath for walls or doors.
