Pineapple Parrot

by Blu

A quick pretty simple, scenographic and funny idea for holidays' dinner/lunch (and other events).
What you’ll need:

  • pineapple
  • sharp knife and scissors
  • small carrot
  • wooden skewers and toothpicks
  • cloves (or black pepper seed)
Instructions:

  • cut the pineapple into two parts, the upper part just a little smaller (the crown is going to be the body and the pineapple the head of the parrot).
  • use the scissor to trim the sharp-pointed leaves, then cut more leaves so that you just have only the upper ones long. Shape the parrot head from the pineapple with the knife, clean the edges, cutting to have a symmetrical head; cut a piece of carrot and give it the shape of the beak then fasten it with the help of a toothpick on the head, lastly use two cloves for the parrot' eyes.
  • use a sharp knife inside the lower part of the pineapple to remove and cut all the pulp into cubes.
  • fix the head on the edge of the pineapple/container with a skewer and fill it with the pineapple pulp in cubes.
